SASUNA SURAKIMU

Protecting Buddha Sasana

We believe it is unfortunate that there are only about 60 Buddhist temples in the largest province in Sri Lanka. What is even more tragic is that the expansion of the Buddhist population is very less and most of them are living amidst economic hardships. Due to this, Buddhist temples are poorly maintained and there are very few monks living in these temples.

Through the සසුන සුරකිමු program, a number of projects are implemented mainly in the Northern Province including the Eastern and North Central Provinces. These projects would consist of meritorious events for Dhamma Schools and Sangha, construction/ building support, providing education assistance for novice monks, etc. We look forward to expanding these projects nationwide in the near future.
