JEEWANA SAHANA

Helping People Way Out of Poverty

Jeewana sahana donations

A child dies from hunger every 10 seconds.

Around 9 million people die every year of hunger and hunger related diseases. This is more than from AIDS, malaria and tuberculosis combined.

We take a practical and dynamic approach to the complicated issues related to poverty and hunger. We believe in empowering people to help themselves.

How you can Support

• Donate dry ration, clothing items, etc. to families with less income (we can organise the event for you).

• Got a skill you can share? Come and share it with people; this can help them be self-employed and make an income for themselves. A couple of days with them sharing your skill can go a long way.

• Provide one-off or regular donations towards the maintenance of our foundation; help us pay our internet bill. Provide machines or equipment such as farming tools, seeds, sewing machines, milk cows, etc. needed for self-employment; we will make sure it gets to the right hands for you.

How your support is used

• Towards constructing or repairing houses with inadequate living conditions.
• Provide basic facilities such as electricity, pure water, and toilet facilities.
• Vocational training and self-employment support by providing farming tools, seeds, sewing machines, milk cows, etc.
• Medical expenses.
• Mobility equipment for adults with special needs.
• Provide clothing, dried and cupboard food and other essentials.
• Provide essentials for pregnant ladies.
